A few progress pics....

  Chocolate Bar™
Well when I say progress, i mean a few major mods ;) Got my car back last night from the wheel refurbers, had them done in vauxhall anthracite, which is like a dark gunmetal full of flake, really really nice colour. Had them fully powdercoated, and new tyres fitted (goodyear eagles) for 180 quid. Still need to do the centre caps, as he wated 5 quid a cap to do them, and when i picked up the wheels the b******s had pushed the silver ones in, so i need take the bloody wheels off now :banghead:

Steering wheel is a momo milenium evo, and looks spot on with the car, really pleased with it. Also got some clear repeaters on the way although they're out of stock at the mo. Anyway heres some dirty pics, and yes, i know it needs slamming, i'm saving up for some h&rs/blisteins.

  CLIO
looks nice buddy, could be a bubbles 3..:)...where did you get your goodyears from for that price and was that for 4?
and yes colour code the side strips, whilst your not doing anythin..:)

cheers jimbo

colour code it is! Goodyears were from black circles, think they were around the 36 quid each, and were delivered the next day. well impressed :)

the 180 quid isnt with the tyres, its just to have them fitted with the wheel refurb lol. Now that would be cheap!

its still on the site william, a lad called clio_sport bought it off here, i do miss it though!

Old plate will be going on next month, as i'm saving it for a month where i cant afford to do anything else lol!

Alan - thanks for the comment :D its not exactly hard though considering theres only 2 ;)

aye, thats what i was thinking! I thought to myself I could stick it on apex for the look, or eibachs for the drive but i know i'll just end up changing it to a good set of coilovers in a few months anyway so not a lot of point.

mods for the future are - the coilovers, yozza exhaust, some engine work and some decent seats and then its pretty much done!

I like the center caps how they are, looks good, deffo CC the strips.

Looks good mate.

Hmm, I'm not too sure. I think it looks a bit odd having, what now look like, aftermarket wheels (different colour and all) with standard ride height. Reckon it'll look much better lowered on them.

I'd say if you are going to start colour-coding, do it properly and get ph2 strips (the ph1's don't look right CC'd IMO) and colour everything, handles, boot lock, etc. The black wheels do mean you can leave bits and pieces black and they'll work together, so either way will look good.

Lovely car. :)

Really liking the steering wheel mark, it suits the car.

Not a fan of the dark wheels but you know this, thats why i sold my trophy rims, but itll change so much once you've got your fingers out & lowered it ;)

P.S ive got my cup racer exhaust on now ill send you some pics at the weekend

looks aces mark, but think you should leave the bumpstrips purely because i think it adds depth to the yellow. breaks it up a bit IMO. and suits the dark wheels too. maybe a cup spoiler on the back but leave the ph quick rear bumper.

loving the wheel as well, only concern would be airbag in mine (having recently had a bump!)

No no theres a few liquid yellows too matey.

Looks pukka fella, i would spray the strips yellow, but thats just my opinion.. wheel is sex

Needs decking on its arse tho ;)

like the car, but the wheels look a little small now they're painted black, sure that'll be sorted out once you've lowered it though ;)

I think a good touch would be to paint the calipers then same yellow as the car amd the drums at the back also get the mk2 ph2 rear lights ,clear side repeaters and silvervisions all round.

Defo colour code

looks good, as said above, leave the strips black imo, will look mint. Love the aftermarket wheel too, i have a momo race in 320mm and its much better than the o.e version.

nice drop and it will be sorted ;)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Dark wheels arent to everyones taste, but they needed a refurb, and after numerous photoshops that looked by far the best, and personally i think they're spot on, they colour in real life when the sun hits em is gorgeous. Will look much much better when slammed anyhow!

Alan - forgot about those yellow mk2s, in that case its a compliment indeed :D

Craig - pics would be great thanks, still deciding on what style of exhaust to go for definatly going for a yozza just cant decide on slash or straight cut.

As for ph2 bits, only mod i may fit would be ph2 rear lights, not a fan off making the back end looks a ph2 tbh.

The steering wheel is mint, and for 100 quid new i really couldnt grumble. However taking a while for me to get used to as its far too small lol. As for airbag, i'm gonna be doing track days so not having an airbag really isnt a big issue.

Top marques in fenton, did and absolutly top job, only had the car for the day, as they have a infra red system so they cure quickly.

  Chocolate Bar™
Got 12 month warnty on them as well, and trust me if anything goes wrong i'll be back ;)

Carbon copy - the switch to the ph-quik was the best thing i've ever done, absolutly loving it. Its fast but totally drivable, which is what I love!
