Since getting my Cup one of my friends has now decided to purchase a clio sport. Here it is:

So... what I'm asking is, From everyones experience does this look a good price. He only wanted to spend £3000. Dealer said price is non negotiable. Not the end of the world but still

Seems ok to be honest, 05 reg and low miles is a big plus.

It could be a complete pig when you get up close though... Check that the dephaser pulley has been done too.

Personally I wouldnt pay more than 3k for it tbh.. But then im a tight arse :rasp:

No dephaser and average mileage. Probably would give it a miss mate, especially at this time.of year when there are some serious bargains to be had. But if he is desperate then there are worse examples.

How do you know the dephaser hasn't been done?

And the average mileage of a UK car is 15,000 p/a according to the RAC. That actually makes this low mileage.

Where are you shopping for Clio's? Just had a quick look and could only find 1 x 182 for sub £3000 with 60k or less. £3000-£3500 is about right. £3000 private and £3500 trade

I'm confused as to why so many people say the dephaser needs doing @ 60k tbh.

If it's been serviced correctly should be fine for double the mileage it's on now?

I thought it was a lack of service related issue which caused it to go rather than an age-related issue.

Even at £3k no thanks I paid a shade over £2k for an 05 with 62k on the clock, belts done, FSH and in tidy condition just needed the wheels refurbed.

Would walk away from this one unless they drop the price at least £1k even then I doubt thats how much they paid for it at the auction.
