A kind of clio depression

I was thinking the other day (yeah i know and it did hurt). If i lost my Williams (stolen crashed etc) what would i get instead. You know what? I cant think of a car id rather have (except of course a Ferrari or other super car). If someone came up to me and offered to swap my Williams for a TT, an M3, an evo, scoob etc, i wouldnt do it. When i first got it i wasnt sure if it was the car for me, but ive really come to love it. It has everything. What else can boast ALL of these attributes?

A. Good looks

B. Handles superbly

C. Rare

D. Practical

E. Economical

F. Only available in one colour;)

G. A classic before its time

H. Fast

I. Racing heritage

J. Limited edition

Coupled to the fact that mine is the first rhd model off the production line and is basically as good as new, i really wouldnt know what to get after owning it. The ONLY car i would consider is the Clio V6 for similar reasons to my list. The amount of attention you get driving a Williams is worth it alone. Bit it kind of leaves you deflated about your next car.

Yeah, my Williams will be with me for a long time. In 2030 Ill be the equivalent of the old guys you see in the 1960s cars that theyve obviously kept since then and been through all the grief. I always try to drive other cars or take the train/bike as basic transport and use the Willy for what it was intended.

Theres no possible car Id swap my Willy for, although Id have a long hard think about a Clio Maxi (Group A) or Lancia Delta Integrale Evo2 (dealer collection).

  2005 Audi A3 3.2 Quattro

I know how you feel mate.

Ive got a 2001 mk1 172 Oddysey Blue, so while not rare in the UK, there are only about 50 in South Africa.

When I was looking for a new car, the Clio was always my first choice and for similar money I could have gotten a Golf IV GTI, Scooby GT with 190kW on the wheels, 206 GTI or any number of decent cars, but I picked the Clio because of all the points you mentioned

A. Good looks - Lots of people disagree but I just love the mk1 172 looks

B. Handles superbly - Oh yeah

C. Rare - Yebo yes

D. Practical - yip

E. Economical - compared to a lot of performance cars, esp. the scoobs

F. Only available in one colour - Nah :(

G. A classic before its time - I like to think so

H. Fast - Yip

I. Racing heritage - Oh yeah

J. Limited edition - Sorta

E. Economical - kinda

F. Only available in one colour - red

G. A classic before its time - yes

H. Fast - Yep

I. Racing heritage - damn right!

Have to agree that the Williams is most of the above you have mentioned Stromba, but I have to say that, whilst it is fast, it isnt silly fast.

Williams or a Noble....;) now let me think.....

Im not very bright so i cant upload a pic for you, but to give you an idea - imagine a wedge of cheese painted red with a black roof. Add appalling shut lines, sexy alloys, tiny windows, six (yep six) headlights, 164 style rear lights, bespoke beige leather interior, a sweet 3.0 V6 with 220bhp, a rear mounted gearbox, slap on a few Zagato badges and youre pretty much there. The eye-ties called it il monstro because its a bit challenging looking. It can generate a stupid amount of cornering g in the dry, too.

Yeah but its fast enough. I doubt you could go much faster down my country lanes in many other cars (unless you want to die that is). Who needs fast in a straight line, any fool can push the gas pedal.
