A Quick Question.

If your mangement light has come on and a couple of days later goes off, is the fault stored? If so for how long? Thanks

it could come on for a number of reasons...
take it to renault and get it plugged into a clip to se whats faults there are

It is going in soon for warrenty work. So im getting done them, I have rung the garage and told them about it.

might be a electrical problem.....cos that managment light monitors alot of things.....it came on on my old car and i just paid a local garage to remove it...there want anything wrong with the car...just came on..lol

Right it has been back 4 times for the engine / suspesion knocking and passenger door rattle. They have adjusted the strut top 3 times and tried to fix the door but no joy. So now they say i might need a new door because the strenghting bar has only 3 spot welds instead of 4. They also say that the struts need replacing..

Here is how i see it they have bent the bar too much and broke it because it rattles even louder and the strut top has been over adjusted.

I have rang renualt uk and they said if it is not right with the new parts on let them know and they will sort it.

On 21st March 2005 I purchased the above car from Arnold Clarke Dealership in Wigan. Since that date I have covered 9230 miles mainly commuting to and from work.

Over the past 11 months various faults have arisen which despite remedial work being carried out by the dealer persist to this day. These faults are as follows:

1, The engine seems to knock / clunk when accelerating or de-accelerating. Possibly faulty/damaged engine mounts?

2, There is a knock / bang / thump from the drivers side wheel when turning the car around, this seems to be worse on my cobbled street because the wheel is bouncing on them. After talking to other Clio owners it's my belief this is caused by the suspension mount. I'm also led to believe there has been a technical note issued and a modification has been carried out on numerous vehicles to correct the problem.

3, There is a rattle on the passenger door it seems to be louder when the radio is on.

The vehicle has now been to the dealers on four separate occasions in an attempt to get the problems rectified. While initially the problems seem to have been fixed within days of receiving the vehicle back from the dealers the faults return. It is therefore my belief that the correct repair procedures are not being carried out fully and are merely being temporarily fixed.

As I have only owned the vehicle for a relatively short period of time I'm sure you will agree that 4 attempts to rectify the faults is more than enough and as a result I am losing faith in the Renault brand.

Hi Lee, I, like most have had the engine mount problem which fortunatly for me was fixed at the first attempt.
The Tech who worked on my car used to own a 172 cup and was fully aware of all the knocks etc.
The problem with my mounts was the one situated under the battery and the top right mount could be worth pointing it out to them.. Renault Minute in Dartford was very helpful.

Recently I have also been aware of a noise from the drivers side whilst on full lock. At a mates flat they have a shared car park which has pot holes the lot!! And is also very difficult to get in and out so locks off full lock is required.
Now certain times on me leaving his flat I will get the horrid crack(ing), squeek(ing) noise whilst going over these pot holes at full lock, this noise only comes from the right hand side.
I am slightly concerned coz the noise is really loud and just doesnt sound right, Ive also had Eibach pro springs fitted and am slightly concerned how the dealers will react to this.
