a very disturbing picture

  Nissan R35 GT-R

The owner has pressed the trip computer button (on the end of the right hand steering wheel stalk) whilst turning the key 1 or 2 clicks.

This invokes the self diagnostic for the instruments and warnings.

BenR told me a while ago and I tried it myself.

The Cup goes to 8,000 rpm - nice!

thats an instrument check hold in the trip button and start the car
You beat me to it - Im always so slow off the mark. LOL!

could be someone doing a test on the dash intruments rather that actually driving it, we can do this at work on bmws but normally uses the diagnostic machine to get the car to do it, either that or the car has problems, lol

oh, just seems a coincidence that that is probly just bout the speed it might go if it was at those revs! u hold in the trip button? that the one on the end of the light stalk? why did he put it in his gallery pics!?

ignore the dials and note that all the lights are on.

if its not a test then the car is in a real bad way

you can get the "serv" and "stop" and "engine" lights on if you put it in 1st at 45 mph in a 1.2 16v.......;)

One nice feature I did notice was that if you keep clicking the computer button after its in diagnostic mode, you can find out how much fuel is still in the tank, instead of the normal how much youve used

but seriously i had my car quicker than that on the speedo

hit the limiter in 5th at 127mph (6,500 rpm - slightly raised limit over the other gears)

yeah if you hold the trip computer button in when you turn the ignition to the accessories position it runs through a check/reset

nothing special
