**** A Warning - PLEASE READ ****

i know it is a silly thing to say,but PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR MIRRORS/BLINDSPOT BEFORE YOU OVERTAKE!!!

I overtook a car and a lorry this evening, they were both travelling around 40 mph,the straight was long and clear,i pulled out to overtake and the lady in the car decided she wanted to overtake the lorry and pulled straight out, this left me no where to go so at around 55mph i had to swerve onto the verge on the side of the road, the 2 right wheels were on the grass, and the two left still on the road, she panicked and swerved back in,i tried to turn back onto the road, and as the verge was bumpy the back end of the car was..i will describe it as loose,i went slightly sideways and i wasnt far off hitting the lorry, but i was lucky as i kept my foot in and dragged it back straight and passed the lorry.

to top it all off the woman then overtook the lorry and sat behind me watvhing the seanery as if nothing had happened!!!!

so i was lucky, that could have been a very nasty accident,i could have ended up under the lorry,so just a word of advise guys please check before you overtake (which i expect you already do) i just dont want this happening to anyone else

It's scary when it happens. I had this happen to me, although I am guilty of once or twice not checking the mirror right before i pull out.

good post, if it helps one person then it's worth it.:)

yep. i had something very simelar. was really scary. could have caused a lot of damage. but luckily there was none! :)

We do, that's why our insurance is cheaper ;)

It's cheaper because you women are too bone idle to drive and make us blokes ferry you round. If you only drive about a 1/4 of the miles a bloke does a year by the law of averages you are less likely to have a bump. You cant have a claim against you sat in the passenger seat while the other half drives you :rasp:

In summary women and old people should not be issued driving licences ;)

I seem to get a lot of people driving in my blind spot lately, I don't know why they do it tbh. It proper annoys me.

this happens to me all the time, the M8 is a dangerous place for a clio, its usually a quarry lorry overtaking an 18 wheeler, and dont see me in the out side lane in my flame red clio just swing out when i'm along side, i could have been mullered many a time.
the worst one is where artics try and crush me on round abouts and slip roads, all i can say is thank got for hard shoulders saved my life a few times.

there are seriously some dangerous drivers out there and i know its a sterotype but i think oldies are the worst, followed closey in joint second by bus and taxi drivers. they think they rule the road, the oldies because they have been on it for so long, 3 years just getting to morrisons, and the buses thing because they have a sticker on the back asking us to let hem pull out they assume we will, and taxis just dont give a sh*t.
but the most inconsiderate are young neds(chavs) in their bambed up corsas and scoobys, just because it has a big exhaut massive wheels and a max power spoiler does not make it a ferrari nor does it make you a michael shumacher, colin mcrae, or jason plato. your a dick in a 4 grand car with a 5 grand premium. i have never been let into traffic by a ned, or let out a junction or gottena wave for waiting between parked cars because they wont wait, or gottena thanks for letting them in or letting them over take.
they are almost as bad as the police for it.

Nasty, but to be honest you can post this warning to other drivers on every forum in the world but there will still be idiots who will read it, shrug their shoulders and go on doing it, unfortunatly it's the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude that some drivers have and it seems to be getting very common now.

i honestly dont know how some people still have licences!

The younger driver, boy racer , chavs etc seem to get a bad name but tbh id put OAPs in the number 1 spot for s**t drivers closely followed by women!

No offence to anyone mind :p
