ABS, juddery?

so the ABS kicked in this afternoon, it was wet out, my worry was how rough it felt, not like any other abs I've witnessed??

it was as if it took all brake power off for a lot longer than i would have expected, quite loud too, not sure if the ABS light came on, was too busy looking at the fool in front who had decided to slam on in the pis*ing rain...

is this normal?

i would check your abs rings for cracks & check abs sensors
