abs light

Low fluid maybe? Or is that the handbrake light, i cant remember :(

Handbrake light i think bud.

hi the abs light is on, on my 52 plate 172 ,

what could cause this?
thanks
john

May be a loose wire where they connect under the rear seats.
Lift the rear seats up and you will see two wires going towards each rear wheel.

Check the connectors.

Either that or a wheel sensor.

The wheeel sensors can put the light on even with a slight bit of dirt on them.

Also check the toothed rings on the rear of the hubs/brake discs.
They are what the Abs sensors use when the wheels are in motion.

As above,

Clean all the ABS rings on each hub, inspect for damage or missing tooth.

Check condition of ABS sensors and wiring, wipe each one clean to make sure they are getting a reading.

Most common cause seems to be a dirty/damaged ABS ring on the hub.
