It depends on the age of your car and the version of the Bosch ABS system installed on your car originally (eg Bosch 5/5.5 non ESP vs Bosch 6/8 with ESP). If your car already has ABS though why change it? The 'sport' version, depending on age, will not give you anything extra that you don't already have other than ESP/TC.

The plugs are (I believe) wired to industry standards so the termination and plugs will be the same across the various system versions but you will not get an ESP unit to function on a car that's wired for non-ESP without some serious work and addition of the required YAW Sensors.

Was going to leave the 1.2 abs pump on there but the 172 connecter wont fit into it..the car already had abs and i plan on keeping it but without the wires connected to abs pump surely it wont work as it should ?

Right, now I believe I am on the same hyme sheet... So you've transplanted the 172 driveshafts and hubs also and now the wheel speed sensors won't connect to the vehicles existing ABS loom?

Yes, your abs won't work and the fault light will stay on which is an mot failure.

The whole loom is out of a 172 the connection for the abs pump ecu wont fit on the original 1.2 abs ecu..im not to fussed about the abs not working as long as the brakes work as they should and still the right percentage for front and back

You shouldn't need to change it as the ABS loom is completely independent to the engine loom. The only thing the ABS loom will need is a fused power link from the engine bay fuse box

Cant figure out how to upload pics..from your engine loom this is a big block connecter that you plug into the abs pump isnt it..the one on the 172 loom will not fit onto the 1.2 abs pump block connecter is far to big therefore i asked the question about changing the pump as then the block connecter will fit to the sport pump
