ABS Ring changeover

As I mentioned in my thread the wrong ABS rings have recently been fitted to my car. Just wondering how big of a job it is to remove them and refit the correct width ones?
I presume it's just removing everything until I am able to pop out the driveshaft. The ABS rings are still shiny on the car, so hopefully wont give me too many problems, will a screwdriver behind it bring it off? Not sure how pressed on they are.

Also when fitting the new ones, can I just bung them in the oven at say 200°C so they expand then slide them on?

Cheers!

It was a bit of a pain for me recently, you just need to strip it down so you can push the shaft through the hub using a hub puller. Tap off the new ones, this was all relatively easy once I had the right tools....

I used an oven to heat mine, it worked, but I'd rather use a torch if you can access one. It didn't take long for them to contract once removed and I had to tap them on for a bit....
The hardest part was then getting the shaft back in the hub, the splines lock and you need to pull the hub again if you're offline. Then, once I did get it straight the CV boot came off and pissed grease everywhere, so be prepared for that.

Make sure you drain the gearbox old first before you remove the driveshaft.

Also, a hammer and small chisel will work just fine on the abs ring and when it's off, use a but if scotch pad or similar to clean off any crap before putting the new ring on. They go on pretty easy if it's all clean. Gentle taps with a hammer and your good to go

Refit, and retop up your oil.
