Its just a small pre-induction valve that supposedly helps cut noise at higher rpm. Is apparently there for EU noise level build regs.

I only removed mine to improve airflow. Its in front of your nearside wheel next to the horn assembly. You can get to it by removing the front section of the arch liner. If you want marginally more induction noise you can remove the air feed hose while you do it (upper not lower).

Also be sure the plug the pressure feed from the plenum if you remove the AV.

o.k cheers for that p@blo.....also were is the pressure feed from the platnum is that the long thin pipe that gose from the throttle body inlet to some were just under behide the planum under the coil pack. is that the pipe i have to plug...and when you say plug do you meen by blocking it up....

and dose this give the engine any better performance or wot...

cheers thanks....

well just been out and had a look and i found the..(accoustic valve)...now it time to take it off but be for i do just need to no a few thing befor i do..

(1) first thing is i notice the cold air feed is connected to the.(accoustic valve).do i just unclip it and just leave the cold air feed sort of hang ther..

(2) iv notice ther is a plug that is plug into the.(accoustic valve).do i just unplug it and leave it ther.

(3) also ther is a back pipe that comes from it and gose to the platnum. am i right i just block it off..

so do i just remove all three then job done....am i right here....

I left the AV in place and just pulled the inlet hose/air feed off the airbox as, apparently, just infront of the airbox is where the best airfeed is anyways, so doesnt need a CAF

If you want. It will give a bit more noise if your remove it

Yep, or tape it somewhere

(3) also ther is a back pipe that comes from it and gose to the platnum. am i right i just block it off..
Yes. I found that a round crayon or a bolt fits nicely

aucky...nice 1 for that cheers mate....

but im just thinking shall i just remove the cold air feed pipe as it just gonna be hanging ther aint it and dont wont it droping off some were down the road. also (removing the accoustic valve).. dose it use more petrol and any loss of performance like. (power wish). cause i dont wont to do it just for it to make more of a sound but i loss power.....

It will be fine hanging there. Its clipped onto the airbox and (I assume you have an arch liner).. this keeps it from dropping onto the road.

To me, it felt like with the caf left in, there was more response at 2-3k revs and more drivable, if a little strangled at the top end.
With the caf removed, it felt a little better at the top end with a more 'numb' feeling to the throttle at low revs.

Trade off with this kind of thing, give both a go. Its easy to remove/replace.
