Acer Aspire One help!

Got my mrs an acer note book laptop for crimbo, had it charged up for the last 4 hours but as soon as u take the mains charger out it dies????? wtf is all that about? It says 100% battery fully charged on the lower left icon?

Help would be appreciated

Could well be the battery by the sounds of things. I had to update the BIOS on mine because it was having trouble coming out of sleep mode and booting up sometimes.
Been fine since.
