Acetone as a fuel additive (improved mpg)

One for the engine experts, thread going over on Pistonheads about adding acetone to petrol (only small quantities), and it improving mpg?
Any downsides to this, is acetone corrosive or harmful. Tends to evaporate very quickly, so would it even last long enough in the tank to have any effect?

I've heard about this but not sure, myth busters did a test and it made it worse but hell, what would they know.

Will investigate further however, but "pure" acetone will be a bugger to find
