Acoustic Valve Info

How is the acoustic valve operated? Vacuum or solenoid or what?

Ok, does anyone have any pics of it in place or removed so i can make my own mind up?

For memory its vacume, removed mine when I put a induction kit on.

Well theres a Vacum line that comes off the inlet for it

its both i think! its got an electrical connector and a vacuum from behind the inlet manifold!

if your looking to take it off just disconnect the plug then put a bolt or something in the pipe or your idling will go all retarded

Hmm, looking at a pic i found it looks like just vacuum, the electrical plug a sensor? Already have mine bypassed, needed the info for a friend of mine for use building a supercharged Golf i think.
