Active crossover or preamp equalizer

What is the major difference between the 2 and is it worth adding one to my system (2 amps, front components, and sub)??
 


the preamp equalizer is only really needed if you got a truly mad sq setup.

i dont know what an active crossover is, so i cant help you on that:cry:
