Adrian Flux Insurance

We all know AF are MOD friendly, and i have recently changed over to them. So all mods are now declared.

Will it make a difference to my policy if i get a chip or RSport ECU?

  Clio 172 Cup, Audi A

when i asked them about adding mods they said it should only increase the premium a minimal amount

Well i have declared, full magnex/Viper I/K, Oz Super Ls 17s, Coilovers, Carbon Fibre Bonnet and have an agreed value of £9.5k for £750 Fully Comp.

I thought that was resonable as we was paying £640 before with no mods declared.

Oh and i have got 3 points BTW

probs means u can still have a roll cage, just they wont pay up for value of it.

 or am i stating the obvious

  Not a Clio anymore.....

Im with AF with my engined chipped and re-mapped ECU. All mods declared and the quote was easily the best and thats with everything to be replaced new for old.

yeah we got new for old on mods too!

Not sure who they insured us with yet, still waiting for paperwork.

Oh and we got Breakdown Assistance in with that too.

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

I was with A/Flux (Highway) last year and when my re-newal came round they wanted 1170 TPF&T (24, 3yrs NCB, modded williams) I called around a bit and no-one came close. Called Brentacre and they quoted my 996 on a modified policy. Got my documents through and the policy was still with Highway!

  E55, KitCar & '85 Quattro

im going to move to them wen my insurance finishes! then ill delcare my mods lol.

yeah but mac, i hope u realise if u stack it( i really hope u dont), then they wont replace the mods! if u want anymore info about tescos insurance policies, let me know!

Will they pay out at all?? I heard that if you have mods not declared, some insurance cos can refuse to pay out atall in certain circumstances??

yes to a certain extent that is true, but most big companys, tesco, n/union,etc will not pay out on mods(declared) if u have a smack! all insurers will void insurance if u stack it, and they can find non standard equipment on the car! however things like chips r hard to prove!

  2005 Nissan Navara

anybody got any quotes on conversions? planning on insuring my 1.4RT with megane 2.0F7R fitted with AF. does any1 know how they base the conversion premium i.e. is it on the insurance group of the vehicle the engine came out of??

172mgw---will tesco provide cover on a conversion?

LOL!!!!!!!! Yeah me too, in December!!

its the best way, the big guys will insure u for mods, but only normal mods, like say a chip and exhaust, and air filter! anything more than that, and u need to go to a specialist!

dunno--my m8 has a 2.0 zetec from a focus in his m reg fiesta si, and his insurer simply based the premium on a focus 2.0. in all honesty i dont think they have a clue--he also has an Emerald ECU (fully user re-mappable), he told them his original ford ECU was knacked, and that it was cheaper to get the Emerald ECU. they said this was fine so long as it had original mapping!!

m0st of the big companys underwriters r not car buffs, but they do know wot they r on about most of the time! if u come across one who is clued up, u could come unstuck!

yeah i agree. hopefully ill find 1 that believs me when i say" but i could only find a 2.0 2 replace my blown 1.4 " !!!

having thought about it, tesco might cover u for an engine change, but it would b so expensive, it wouldnt b worth it!

Chips are easy to find and they will be checked from now on as insurers want any excuse to not pay out. Was talkint to an investigator a while ago and he said they wil do more checks on cars as its so easy and popular and so may people think they can get away not telling the company and insurance is to small a profit business to loose money like that.
