Advice needed Clio 172 Tapping/Knocking

So I bought a Clio 172 Mk2 last week.
Previous owner stated it would need dephaser changing soon as had a quiet tick, by the time I got it home the noise had got a lot louder (23 mile) now I’m doubting it’s the dephaser any suggestions???

does the sound speed up / get louder when you rev it?
