Advice on buying 172

Ive made a thread about a problem in the problems section but its kinda turned into an advice thread.

Would apprecieate some advice about buying a 172 please as im not clio clued up.

best tip, wait till the end of the year mate, with fuel on the up & house prices dropping along with gas & elec bills go up any form of fuel drinker will loose money, take the 182 trophy, i remeber seeing them go for 11+k last year now you could pick up a mint one for nearer 7k

Clio 172's are famous for a multitude of things (although can be identified pretty easily)

Since ive had mine ive replaced>>>

+ Both window regulators, drivers and passenger side
+ Rear near side bearing
+ Coil Pack (car was mis-firing, common i beleive)

i cant see the buyers guide because i aint a member and im not buying membership unless i buy a sport, lol.

and i cant wait, i have sold my car last week.

when i had my car, there were loads for sale, as soon as i sell i cant find nout, lol.

ph2 prefrebly, but i dont mind ph1's

only looking for the earliest ph2's as my budget doesnt really stretch.

Ah right i see, was it the saxo vtr you had? I owned a vts before the ph1 and its just so much fun, similar(ish) drive i admit but so much more pull higher up.
Still really miss the vts so many people thought they were s**t but i still cant believe how quick it was...

yeah, they are quite fun, i didnt do any cheesy mods, just lowered it to the ground but yeah had it a year and at the end of the day its a saxo, lol.

was thinking about upgrading to a vts but insurance was 1200 fc at 20, then did a cheeky quote for a 172 and got 1250fc, so that was it, rather have a rs.

i had a vtr as a previous car too, loved it to bits. next car was a huge waste of time and cash but the 172 whoops ass in terms of fun/price.

what will you be using the car for? just a commuting type car or guna be tracking it at a later date etc?

well commuting and 'fast road' use, doubt ill be going near the track.

what does scare me is the tax prices after april 09 and april 10
