Advice on Coilovers

  Evo 8 MR
I'm after a set of coilovers but I'm not sure which set to go for so just after advice on which ones are good for the money.

I'm looking at spending no more than about £600 on a set.

Are there any that are good but not crashy? I had Apex springs and shocks on my last clio so anything softer but as good or better handling wise than them I'm happy.

I could just phone a retailer but I'd feel they would just try and flog me the dearest set.

I'm a new cup owner so you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge.

^Not RS fitment.

I'd hold out for a second hand set of H&R/Bilstein/KW. Know what your getting then. Dont buy GAZ. Period.

If you had bothered to read the ebay description you'd see these are only for a 1.4, the OP has a 172 cup.

Try Kam racing mate, im thinking about a set of FK Konigsports. On the web site there listed at 601 pounds, give him a bell though and he'l sort you out.

I asked about them earlier and people seem to agree they're a good bit of kit.

Thanks Gaz and Kevster, the money from the dynamique sale is going in the bank tomorrow so I'll be doing some shopping for goodies then.

hmm, ive had gaz on an xr2 and my old valver, so i wouldnt say no to another set, did look through a thread where somebody had problems with the order but mine will be purchased and fitted at k-tec so just let them worrie about that.

(im just about to look at H&R's as i want something with slightly better ride hieght and a comfortable/soft feel, like what you said yours is like fletch)

If you want comfort, better ride height, and handling then IMO the H&R's are great Joe.

IIRC the Bilsteins are very similar.

I have H&R's and they are great. They feel like the cup suspension, are not crashy in any way. They lower the car too a good height and handle excellent. Worth the money, but are alot of money for just adjustable height coilies.

lol.. I've not yet had a blast in a 172-82 with these fitted mate :( ;)
Nothing wrong with h&r, awesome. I'm just fussy and being able to muck about with the settings allows me to alter the balance on track.
