advice on me buying a 172 and other advice.

in the next few weeks im going to be buying a clio 172 (not the cup,please dont try and tempt me)
im after a standard one and i have noticed some of you say that some features are standard on one year and a option on another year. (or something like that) im hoping to spend around £5-7 k not much more,
so what year is good to get for one thing and bad for anther (if you understand me)
also whats the average price on running a 172-
how much does a service cost? parts and are they relativly cheap to look after.
i've had 2 saxo vt* in the past and know howcheap a french car can be built,or the clio 172 the same?

also which is the best colour to get,? SOME PICS OF YOUR 172'S MAY HELP ME DECIDE

i like the metallic blue (i know very common)
nr me there is only 1 red one, 1 blue cup, 1 black and a orange so there are far between nr me.

im in the same position as u . so cant comment much.. other than check out the image gallery click mk2-172s then check out the colours.. flame red and black are hot!

i paid 5k for my x reg ph1 172, with 31k on the clock, full service history,
its personal opinion on what colour you want, running costs will vary, expect around 30mpg, and a service isnt cheap, around £280 for a 36k service, the car will always make u smile when u drive it.

i agree
i felt as though i wasalways cleaning it. lovely colour but i do not want another black one.

Why are you discriminating against the Cup clio?

I have gone from a BMW tourer to a Clio cup I have climate though and I miss nothing. The driving experience of the cup far outways anything else I have drove.
