ADvice on polisher please

  phase 1 172
a few months ago this was bought for me http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUPERB-QUALIT...ryZ42266QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

this weekend i am hopin to use it to remove some swirl marks but very nervous as its a rotary and havnt had much practice on other cars!

my question is the removable polishing heads arent the best with this do you think beta polishin heads will fit this machine from betta brands!

the reason i wonder as its hard to tell the grade of polish on each head so i dont want 2 add more scratches than before

cheers 4 any responses

most new mopheads are shite, you have to wear them in before they start to get any good.

hard mop head for the cutting, soft mop head for the polishing

i have pretty much the same mop as you, you now the backing plate with the velcro how its pretty big, i cut mine down to the line (which is the universal size for backing heads) just used a stanley blade.

when its cut down you can throw these on then

good mop heads

was it the plastic part u cut?

how do u find it 2 use as the original size head is fine 4 large surface areas but i will struggle on the panels and upto the strips

yup, cut the plastic part, you'll see a ridge on it (or you should) i cut to that and then cut through the velcro part.

big mop heads are s**t, you cant get no pressure onto the panel and theyre useless for finer polishing too, like on bumpers and that. need a smaller more precise head

cool cheers for the advice

so did u buy other heads to scre on or just the velcro heads!

every1 uses the same pc on here so i was gonna buy the heads they use as its easy to tell the different grades from rougher to finer

just the velcro heads.

im pretty sure when i tried another backing pad that the bolt was too small for it, so i just chopped down the plate and used velcro heads.

velcro heads are loads better/cheaper than solid heads with the hole for the thread to go into anyway.
