Advice on potential purchase

Hi guys, looking at '05' 182 with 70,000 miles.
Know my cars resonably well and have used Clio's on track.
I'm aware belts need doing now, but some advice on any specific areas to bear in mind or any common Clio problems/costs involved would be awesome.

depends on its factory fitted options.
has it got cup packs, fsh/where it was serviced, cambelts/tensioners done, four tyres of the same make/are they budget ones, front end stone chipped, brakes in good condition, rusty back box, dodgy suspension top mounts??

there are wildly different prices about on 182s, all depends on how its been looked after and if it has any mods/if it needs any work. if it does need cam belt/ brakes/ service i would want it cheap, i wouldnt buy the first one you see unless its a real bargin and you know how much the above is gonna cost you to put right (if it has those probs), then if you drive 2/3 you have somthing to compare it with.

well worth the £10 members pack, then do some reading up in the buyers guide.

Guys thanks for all the advice, do know my cars (ex trade) now bought the car black, both cup packs all the tyres are exaltos and good has had ipod stereo fitted and stainless system (thankfully not obtrusive) all history docs and keys. newish pads and disks, drives tight and strong. need to do the dreaded cam and aux belts at a cost of £1k by renault!!!! good job it was cheaper. Any suggestions near leicester???

Sounds like good car minus the belts needing doing. Fred at BTM in Birmingham will probably be the best bet for the belts.

Also your aux belt will be due again (I think) as it's every 36k or three years.

Yeah will be doing it at the same time, will call him thanks guys!! She is good the irony is now have 2 of the things sat on the drive. the missus's 172 and my 182. thank god i've got the anthracite alloys! Look stooopid trying to get into hers. well the car anyway. Anyone doing a track day anytime soon??
