Advice Required

I would like to start to play with my 172 cup now, as a bug has bitten me to make it a little quicker..

I dont want to make it any more noisy, sound better or anything like that, I just want performance.

to start out, I am looking at:

https://www.bbperformancetuning.co.uk/products/product.asp?deptid=114&id=1189">https://www.bbperformancetuning.co.uk/products/product.asp?deptid=114&id=1189

an Rsport De-cat and RSport Chip.

what are your thaughts?

well the best start for clios is usually the breathing

exhaust and decat will improve that (but make it noiser)

also worth thinking abot is a replacement element, as these will perform much better than the oem filter

the rsport ecu must be well worth considering to add to the above product, will also be good to have it set up on a rolling road

i think thats my 2ps worth

but they can be custom made

just ask TimO172

he has a piece of tubing, with the lambda sensor welded onto, works a treat

Custom made twin lambda decat that works effectivly? Doubt it.

14s 1/4 miles cant be laughted at

I know its to a panel filter. :)

that was where I was going to start...

any idea on dates for the K-Tech stuff?

So let me see, a simple peice of tubing with the second lambda sensor welded on works perfectly? No problems with fueling?

Why dont you call K-Tec and tell them they are doing it all wrong then.

Sorry but measly exhaust/filter mods shouldnt be counted as power gains. Get a chip once youve got some stuff done, dont get an Rsport as you cant do anything else (its not reprogrammable).

KTR CLIO 172 SPORTS CATALITIC CONVERTER
We are currently testing our new sports catalitic converter on our Mk2 172. It is a direct replacement for the standard restrictive catalitic converter and power gains of 6-8 bhp are expected. It will also pass all MOT emission tests so there will be need to change the cat back to the standard one at MOT time. It works with the twin lambda set up on the Mk2 172 and Cup and there will also be a version available for the Mk1 172. Price is exoected to be £250-£300 and they will be available from early July.

good quality but expensive

what are you looking at??

oh yeah, the manifold would be another worthy modification
