Aerial replacement ?

I bought a cheap bee sting aerial off eBay to replace OEM one and just wondered if the standard one just twists off and new one on ? Was just worried about messing up the aerial base and making a hole in the roof! Cheers.

yes they just unscrew, iirc they are a M5 thread
