After installing an aftermarket HID kit, (long distance) headlight indicator stays on

  Clio 172 2002
Hello,

I bought a second hand HID kit and replaced both headlights (near and long distance), and also the additional daytime lights where replaced with leds.
The set works nicely and the lights are really bright, BUT I've got a small problem now; Always when I have headlights on in the car, the (blue) long distance headlight indicator in the dashboard stays on, even though the long distance headlights are not on. When I put them on, the blue light is on in the dash as expected, when I use only daytime lights, then the blue indicator turns off with the green indicator, so that works as expected also.

Does anyone have an idea what could be done to fix this issue? I didn't install the set myself, but the guy who did it said that he cannot tell what causes that, all wirings were "normal" and installation went fine he said.
I also called the guy who sold the kit to me, and he said that he had the same issue but he didn't care. I dont actually care either, but here in Finland the "MOT" inspections are really strict and those MOT guys will probably fail me if I'll show up with some extra lights on my dash. :)

Thanks in advance.

Theres crossed wires or corroded terminals would be my guess .

Yeah as above, something is crossing or not earthing right. I would disconnect and check all the light connections.
Is your car a Phase 1 (Oval Lights) or a Phase 2? (Angular Lights)?

Also could be drawing too much power, had similar when I change the interior light, it stayed on all the time very faintly and the auto lights stopped working, changed bulbs back to originals and everything worked again.

Mine is ph2. Guess I have to check the wirings with some electricity expert, and if there's no help in that, then change the original long distance bulbs back. It would be a bummer since those new ones are really bright and good looking also (6k).

Yeah that might make sense also, since the indicator light on dash is a bit more faded when the long beams are actually not on.
