Aftermarket Manifold for a non sport clio

  Clio 1.6 16v
hi guys and girls!

I am on the hunt for a aftermarket manifold (decat manifold) for my clio mk2(phase 1) 1.6 16v.

I can't seem to find one anywhere :S so if anybody could link me to one or point me in the right directionas to where to look it would be much appreciated!

Cheers:boring:

£400 could be far better spent tbh.

you would only gain <10bhp from the mod,
better off putting the money to a 172 engine ;)

Yeah fair point :)

Its just im getting a ashley exhaust and they sound so so nice when decatted, so i was wondering if there where any other manifolds that i could use that wouldnt cause me to loose power?

However, i am going for the 172 conversion around april time (Y) so all should be well!.

Coilovers and decent brakes are the only mods i'd ever bother with on a 1.2.

i dont have a 1.2 :)

1.6 however its going 172 in april time!

Just ensuring i have small bits done for now seeing as my friends 1.6 16v c2 with small mods is dyno'd at 142bhp soo while i have money i thought i might aswell go for something different.

Also the reason i wont get the conversion now is because i cant insure it until im 19 and im not down for having my insurance invalidated!

I know it's not what you want to hear, but i'd save the money, bide your time and buy a 172.

Just leave it as it is until April then. Why spend £400 on something that isn't going to get you much gains for only 6 months and then in 6 months time when you go to sell, you will probably get half that money back.

Try and find a set of 2nd hand coilovers that way, when you sell in 6 months, you won't lose much money.

From experiance, I had a 1.4 and I was always trying to find ways to make it "Quicker" but in reality it just wasn't do able without wasting money. In the end I probably spend around £500 on mods for my 1.4 and only got around £360 back (although I kept the ebaich springs and put them on my 172) and that was just an exhaust and induction. Made the drive nicer but didn't make it quicker.
The best thing I did was lower it on sportlines. Made it so much fun to drive.

I was looking at cam's, different throttle bodies and even putting the 1.6 bottom end on but when I realised it would be around £1000 to do and only make an extra 20 bhp, I decided to wait for a 172 and it was worth the wait.

Hope this helps.

Cheers for the input! i guess im just being impatient haha :)

I will just go for the ashley exhaust for now anyway, but i will wait for the 172 conversion haha,

At the minute i already have some certain mods:

K&N panel filter with direct 80mm cold air feed going to it (Coming out of one of my fog light spaces)

Eibach 60mm springs

i also have a pipercross viper which i will put on when i can be bothered. (yes i will remove the panel filter as i dont plan on double filtering haha)

il just stick with the looks of the car for now then and get the 172 conversion in april for the performance!

if youve got the money to burn,
spend it on a good pair of seats,
and harnesses,
possibly roll cage

you'll be able to keep them when you get the conversion!

I'm with the others!

Drive it as it is, put the money aside for a decent 1*2 when you can insure it. In the mean time, spend some of the money on a few good holidays and generally enjoying yourself until insurance isn't an obstacle!

I spent shed loads of cash on cars when I was younger, I regret it now so just passing on that wisdom!

Kam racing offer an after market manifold kit if your still interested though.

Not any more. The link pipe seems to cause issues with fouling so not a straight forward fit.
Jordan. If you want one I have a barely used 4-1 part of the manifold minus the link pipe you can have cheap as chips. Then just get a local exhaust place to link it to the exhaust system.
