Are their any gains in performance or how the car feels by fitting say Magnecor leads and either NGK/Splitfire plugs ?
Remember these are not easy items to change on the 172 (erm unless you have a certain mod ) as you have to take off the plenum chamber/inlet manifold to get to the leads and plugs - thats why they are 72k mile service items.Quote: Originally posted by rich172 on 20 October 2003

Most things are hard to change on a 172, even a simple oil/oil filter change is a knuckle scraping job!Quote: Originally posted by Roamer on 21 October 2003

But the 172 already has these plugs as standard so why change?!Quote: Originally posted by StevieB on 21 October 2003
If you put those platinum electrode ones in, theyll last for about 50K or longer. They definitely work out cheaper in the long run.
