aftermarket steering wheel

im thinking of getting rid of my renault steering wheel and putting a nice momo wheel in its place.. now i dont no much about these but couple things i was wondering was...is it all legal and above board to remove your air bag and replace with a different steering wheel. and also what are insurance companies views on this im with tesco got no problem paying the extra (the way i see it if i can afford the mod can afford the increase) but didnt want to order it the boss kit for no reason.

I would inform your insurance to be on the safe side as some dont charge or can class it as an interior mod but best to let them no,there might be a charge on insurance
