Wonder wheels is very aggresive if thats what you want but be careful if they are painted of chromed!

AG engine and machine cleaner maybe?

if AG Clean Wheels didnt shift it, Engine Machine Cleaner won't stand a chance!

how long did you leave the clean wheels on for Hayley?

Ditto on the Engine and Machine Cleaner.

I am struggling with the wheel inners on the GTi, the Clean Wheels was working but very slowly got some Trade range Autoglym Wheel Cleaner now which is meant to be super strong and I am picking up some Wonder Wheels tommorrow to try over the weekend. Will report back.

Also worth trying some clay if it is small areas of stubborn bits.

  Shed.
Rich make sure you have plenty of water and soap handy. you should only need to agitate it for no more than a minute IMO, took me 30 secs or so to remove some marks in the crevices which i could not remove with clay or any other product i had at my disposal.

Will have the water handy - Not used it since I had my 309 GTi, but it dulled the finish of them in seconds!

Luckily it is only for the very back of the wheels on the rear of the spokes and the central hub bit, cleaned the rest up with Clean Wheels, Clay and SRP.

The AG trade stuff is supposed to be more potent still have been told not to use it without gloves!

Quite a while to be honest.. its got three wheels half clean but one is still disgusting. I want to refurb them anyway so may have to do that.

They're painted, but it won't matter if the paint comes off..
Will try WW.

Pah Girls ;)

I really really want a pink Autoglym bag so much better than my red and green ones.

I tried to buy an empty one at Autosport but they would only sell me a full one :-(

Update on Wheels acids. Yes they do burn skin my arms are still stinging now !

Wonder Wheels cleaned more than the Autoglym Clean Wheels, it also cleaned more than the trade Autoglym which does not seem any stronger than the consumer range Clean Wheels wish is odd, as I was told it is stronger.

Still not got the wheel inners 100% so going to try the Superfast Dan method next weekend.

what was that brick acid??!!

i struggled to get a couple of tiny bits perfect on my inner wheels (the inner part of the back of the wheels (spokes) i had a go with white spirits and its did the job rather well - leaving only a tiny bit!

;)

White spirit would not touch it, 60k's worth of build up on the back of the spokes.

Brick acid at the weekend !

This was on the front of the clio for 66k.... I used it as the spare because it was more curbed than the others.

The problem I am having is getting it out of the pitting in the wheel centres like your 172 wheel has.

Bite the bullet and get a wheel refurb.... From there it will be so easy to maintain! Its impossible imo to get them clean when they have been neglected from new

Will it not make the paint come off as well thou? :/ looks nasty!

Gonna give her a wash tomorrow again I think, might take the wheels off & give them a proper scrub (lol.. *maybe*)
