Air bag light on mk2 ph1 HELP!

When driving some times the airbag light comes on this brings the service light on It does not always happen and it can go off on its own or if you sometimes turn of the ignition then restart the car it will go of. ANY IDEAS?

airbag ecu may be playing up about £270 from main dealers! check the wiring is connected up ok under ashtray you can send the ecu's to be repaired(cheaper option) although this may not solve the problem

It'll almost 100% be the wiring under the front seats for the airbags/pretensioners. Have a waggle with the connectors and see if the light goes off, if not its a cut and solder affair.

yup wires under the seat mate, had same problem on mine. I just wiggled mine and it went away. Brown and blue wires if memory serves

Yup, all 3 of my clios ive had have done this, check the connections under the seat before you start ordering a new ecu!

ive cut and solderd the wires under the seats to day so far so good, and yes it is a three door.thanks for your help.
