Air bag + serv light. Cruise control & limiter not working.

I have airbag and serv lights on in my 182 I tried playing with the wires under the passanger seat but it didn't work.
So I cut out the connector and hard wired them but the lights are still on. I can't set a speed with the steering wheel buttons for Cc either, is this related?

What else can I check? Is there a machine I can get the fault codex from?

Airbag squib ring probably faulty.

Sits under the steering wheel and controls the airbag and the CC functions.

PM jenic (Mike) he had his replaced.

So both cruise control and speed limiter dont work?

When you flick the switch does it light up like normal and display ---- waiting for you to input a speed?

If an rstuner will check airbag codes you can borrow mine, not sure if it does though.

Yep that's right neither of them work, yeah it displays that and waits for you to set it. It wont let me set it though, any ideas ?

Was going to ask you about this today at the pub but you'd gone!

I'd put money on it being the airbag ring, easy to fit. I got one from sutts autos on here for £25 delivered so i'd try pm'ing him.

Yes, exactly the same problem.

I tried changing both pedal switches, but that didnt help and I dont think the switches effect the speed limiter.

I tried putting an rstuner map on as remaps can cause problems.

I tried a different wheel which made no difference and it isnt the dash switch since it lets you select it and lights up.

Basically this is the last thing I tried, dont think there is anything else short of a cut in the wiring between ring and ecu or a fucked ecu but your likely to be getting other issues too if thats the case.

Awesome, where do I get one then ? you say someone on here sells them ? or can I get them a similar price from Renault ?

I'd get it clipped before blindly replacing stuff personally, somethings even when the faults cleared the lights won't go off until the faults been cleared with clip. Seen it happen a few times.

£25 to replace the airbag ring or £70 to get Renault to diagnose it though.

Meh I'll just try one, dash is coming off soon anyway so I'll fit it when I do that.

Renault aren't the only option though, any decent specialist should/will have one. Even the pokey one down the road from me have a clip machine so its not just the ones on here. There is other diag gear that'll pull the airbag codes up too anyway.

While a specialist may be able to do a diagnostics then I doubt it will pick up cruise faults. I know my cruise fault did not register on these generic machines but I presume renaults equipment would spot it.
