air con question

  ph2 172
I had my air con re-charged and de-bugged at Kwik-fit today but it does not seem to be as cold as i had expected.
What is the air-con like on these cars (ph2 172 btw) ?
I have been in vehicles where you freeze ya ass off when its on full bore but mine was blowing cool not cold air.
Could it be they have not done it properly or a fault in the system or does it need time to circulate and settle?
Could it be there is a particular way to use it and i'm not running it properly?
Any pointers greatly appreciated. :)

Most likely there is a problem other than it just needing regassed, see if in a week its even worse, if so you know its not just the gas.

Must be a problem somewhere else?
I took the car back and they re did it all and said no faults showing up and left it on the vacuum for and hour instead of the normal 20 mins and still no joy.
The manager apologised and gave me a refund which I was happy about but still not got nice cold fresh air!
Any ideas what else may need to be looked at?

Well either:
pump isnt working
you have a leak
pump isnt being activated

In our case we had a tiny hole in the aircon rad which I fixed by replacing the rad, you need to get a dye put in it to stand any chance of finding leaks though.

Another possible is the mixer flap/position motor as this can stop it achieving a true cold blow.

Ideally though you need the HVAC system looking at on CLIP to see what is actually happening and what the computer is trying to chill at vs actual internal cabin temp.

You can try other places with other equipment if you like but I have never seen anything other than Autologic come close to CLIP in this particular system.
