Air Conn Pump 172

Is the air con pump below the altinator on the mk1 172? And is it belt driven?

yep the pump is below the alternator and is poly v belt driven

Great. Im wondering if theres space for a supercharger down there if the aircon was removed.

have a look at rotrex superchargers - theyre fairly small - used on saxos and 106's.

Thanks they sound pretty good and it comes with an oil filter, resevour and cooler which is pretty cool.
I could cut out the grill bits on the bumper and pop and intercooler there. The pipework would be a pain though...
