air feeds. any probs with water

ok. my plan is to take out me foglights cos there nackered and look cak anyway and run an air feed from the left one, cutting the pipe that curves up under wheel arch and attaching it to this for a bit more air for the old motor.

i was just wondering if anyone has any probs when it rains who has done this themselves. wont water get into the filter and engine???

rain, as long as its not totally submerged and your intake system is air tight then its not a problem.

little bit a of vapour and some moisture on teh filter is ok.

Mine is the same and i drove through just the worst thunder storm ever last night! The roads were so flooded that i couldnt even see the white lines so i was a bit concerned driving through about 2-3 inches of water that it might go up the pipe but everything seems fine

When i was over at Hill Power i saw Nicks car, and he has run the air intake from where the wash bottle sits at the back of the engine. He put some megane bonnet vents in his bonnet just above it, says it works brilliantly. Anyone else tried this? What do you think? Means putting vents in the bonnet, but the air may be a. cooler there, and b. less likely to get water in the air box

theres a high pressure are a there so air will go in. It has to be sealed cos if that air gets into the engine bay then the engine will melt.
