Air filter / Induction Kit

Have just taken out my K&N 57i Induction kit as I read a lot of posts that said that I would lose power in my 172 Mk2.

I now have the standard box back in, haven't noticed any difference really...

Should I put it back in or buy an aftermarket panel filter?

I had a green induction kit on mine and to be honest I noticed how tight the car felt with the standard airbox on.
If it feels no difference go for the K&N again, the sound is very statisfying haha

I would recommend an ITG panel filter. I didnt expect any changes at all but am sure it has a bit more go at about 3k..... might be my imagination though. Oh, and it makes a cool (quiet) whooshing sound when the revs drop to about 1.5k.

I've gone for a green one, will let you know what its like when fitted. Didnt fancy getting a panel filter as I wanted some sound from it.

I had a JR panel filter that i got from GDI. That seemed alrite. Only difference i noticed was it was a bit loader when acelerating. Sounded cool.

Good move

Just drop a good panel in the OE aibox like a K&N, Green or ITG and it'll run good

I have a viper and have just had my CAF (cold air feed) fitted and it is mint .. sounds good, looks the part and the car seems a lot more responsive (for want of a better word) lol
