Air filter replacement/Clean

  Clio 172 cup
Hi
My 172 Cup has covered 22000 miles now without an air filter clean or replacement
Is it best to replace or clean and if so what are my options??
Cheers in advance

is it a standard renault filter (orange papery type)?

If yes replace it.

If it is an aftermarket filter e.g pipercross/k&n give it a thorough clean, there is a guide in the guide sections for cleaning aftermarket filters (ITG ones, similar principle)

not needed if its an open cone filter....just wash it in warm soapy water, wash of with cold water..leave it to dry overnight then a light spray of wd40...works for me

I'm all for saving money but air filter oil is definately more "sticky" than WD so I wouldn't recommened using that + not important on a clio as air delivery is calculated via MAP however cars which use MAF could potentially have problems with WD
