Air Filter

  Mondeo
Hi,

ANy words of advice on replacement air-filters? I was considering a panel replacement filter and there appears to be three types oil impregnated (K&N), cotton or foam.

I used to use K&N's in off-roaders to protect a little against water ingress when wading. But taking that aside, there was always the concern that over oiling it/spare oil could upset MAP sensors, etc. Whereas cotton and foam seem to be a 'dry' system. What are they like? Any recommendations?

I am after something that just helps her breath a little better, I know I won't get massive performance gains or anything silly like that. Though I do have a full one-off Stainless system and was hoping that with a decent filter it would free her up a little.

Thanks in advance,
Harvey

Cotton filters like the K&N and Green are fine.

If your concerned about oil contamination ITG is covered in sticky oil hence the reason I changed it for a green just to be on the safe side, it just seemed a bit crap.

IIRC Clio runs a map sensor instead of MAF sensor...the latter is the one that gets screwed by oil on the hot wire
