airbag ECU

well to cut along story short
my drivers seat airbag has had to be replaced due to a small knock in my clio, which ive done by replacing it with a second hand seat from a breakers yard.
also the rear seat belt drivers side pre tention has also blown still on the look out for 1 of these.

but what i would like to know is, can the airbag computer be replaced by a 2nd hand computer from a scrapped car, where no airbag have blown.

i realise that finding a 2nd hand car from a breakers with no airbag damage would be like finding rocking horse whatsit! but lets just say i did. would it be possible to replace it with 1, are they interchangable between clio to clio?

another question can they be repaired?

and incase i need to go down the renault dealer road how much is a new 1

As long as the part number is the same as the original computer should be fine.
May need to be configured using the clip system.

BUT for your own safety I personally think your better off getting a new one, a few quid or steering colum in your skull you decide?

They average around 120 quid plus vat new.

thats ALOT better than i thort
i was thinking more around the £300 mark

think i will go for a new 1.

where abouts are they located in the car? i take it they are just plug and play type thingys
