Airbag light and rear seat belts

I've got a 172 cup and the serv and airbag light are on. I've tried resistors on the plugs and steering wheel (hopefully correctly) and this did not remove the lights.

Thinking back, this occurred when I removed the rear door panels (and they still aren't back on). Is there anything in this area and the rear seat belts that could cause the light to be on?

No, i've had my rear sets removed for years and didn't throw up any lights when i did it, it'll be the connector under one of the front seats, my airbag light is on and wiggling the passenger seat connectors fixed it, until one day it didn't, now my mot tester just ignores it.

Check these plugs under both seats. Leave engine running so you can see serv and airbag light, then disconnect and reconnect the plugs. See if that fixes it. Could be a bad contact. Give us some feedback 👍

My guess would be 20 year old wires and connectors are feeling their age.

There was no grey connector under the passenger, the wires seem to have been cut and soldered. I've removed this incase it was bad and used a connector block, still no joy. I also used a 3.3 resistor but nothing.

I then had a look at the side impact sensors and used a 3.3 resistor there but nothing, although the drivers side does look a little corroded, it's hard to clean up the contacts given how small they are.

I had two 3.3 and then 3.9 resistors in the connector for the steering wheel, no change.

I've also had a 3.3 resistor in the drivers plug in the past but again no difference.

you can see on the drivers side grey plug, two wires have been cut, I traced these back and found them soldered to what I think is the pretensioner. I cut these back and added a connecting block with a resistor, I think at this point everything has had a resistor in it.

Thought I'd follow up on this as the airbag light is a common issue that's normally attributed to the passenger seat, but my original plug had already been cut out.

I thought the airbag light would go out as soon as the issue was resolved, seemed in my case it wasn't instant. When I went to the car the next day, the air bag light was out. Given the only issue I could find was a corroded plug, I think it was water ingress into the drivers side impact plug.
