airbag/serv warning light comeing on

Everytime i start up my Mk1 172 the Airbag and Serv lights on the dash come on.

I,ll maybe drive for 3 or 4 miles then theyll go off for a couple of minutes then theyll come back on WHATS HAPPENING.

Ive tried the wires under the drivers seat but the lights still come back on and the cars only done 28,000 miles and was serviced by renault 5 months ago.

The thing is its out of warranty and i dont want to take it to renault if they are going to charge me a fortune to fix it, so any ideas how to fix it.

You could cut the connectors under the seat and wire them up using bullet connectors instead

try the wires under the passenger seat. they were causing the trouble on mine (although its mk2, if that makes any difference).

just snap them out and put them back in again...it sorted it for a while but i still took it to renault to fix. its a known problem so i would have thought they would look at it.
