Airbag Servicing

Guess most Valver owners either dont have an airbag or have an aftermarket wheel fitted.

Has anyone ever got their bag checked as think Haynes mention this should be done every few years and my warning light on dash (which I think is also seat belt related) stays on quite often now.

Just thinking of getting it checked as dont really want an airbag to open on me when not needed.

Anyone had theirs looked at or had same warning light come on?

get it checked mate.... the light usually means the bag will not deploy...

so dont panic..

Mine on the steering wheel has been flashing for 3 years now, how do i set the system checked and reset ?

you need ren specialist or dealer... we/they got the gear....

do you mean the actual light on the airbag itself. if so it means the internal battery is faulty and it may not deploy in a accident.

Read in the Haynes manual that it can only be tested by Renault using their special tool. Hope it snot too expensive. Was going to swap plastic phase 2 wheel for leather phase 2 wheel anyway and swap the airbag over. See if that cures it and then if not go to Renault.

Am I right in thinking that will fail the MOT with warning light on?

Airbags have absolutely nothing to do with the MOT test.. And as such are not even looked at, warning light or not..
