Airbox Question!

I'm gonna remove the K+N gen2 kit that came fitted on my car and I have a new standard airbox and filter! The only problem is that the accoustic valve it's fittings have been removed! I'm guessing that the airbox and filter will fit on but will have no 'proper' place to draw air from and will end up being a loose pipe floating around drawing air in from the engine bay! Does anybody have any suggetions other than just running a piece of flexi pipe from the lower grill? Has anybody got a accoustic valve etc that I can buy off of them Also, any pics of 'how it should be as standard' would be great as all I have for a guide is a K+N and an Airbox:S !
