Alarm/insurance question

This is probably a very silly question, but if I get an alarm installed in car (which doesn't have one fitted atm) would that actually lower my insurance premium or not?

Any suggestions on alarms?

Almost certainly not. Alarms/Immobs/Trackers are generally a requirement for higher end vehicles rather than a discount for lower end cars. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong and that they got a discount after fitting a cobra or such with some company, but as a rule, it shouldnt make any difference to quotes.

Thanks, that was a thought that I had. But as I said, I wasn't sure at all, so thought I'd ask.

Still might get one though, mind at rest when I leave it and all that.
