alarm problem!

  Inferno 182FF
Yesterday I was messing about fitting a new front n/s splash guard. Replaced all of the tie wraps (with proper fittings) the previous idiot used attaching the under trays to the front bumper, and fitted a fabia splitter. Didn't touch anything electrical at all! Since then when I lock the car, the alarm makes a constant high pitch noise for about 1-2 minutes then sets itself and goes off. The car is locking fine and the alarm eventually sets but WTF is that noise and how to I get rid of it?! I look like a right bell every time I have to leave it locked somewhere!

Any ideas anyone?

Possibly the bonnet sensor for the alarm? It's registering that something's not shut - hence the high pitched noise.

This, :D

i couldnt figure out which one wasnt working for me removed all the switches etc, still nothing, eventualy i stripped the dash out removed the airbag (carfully) and removed the fuse from the alarm (mk2 ph1),re assembled, n now the door locks and unlocks with the fob, the lights flash but no alarm, sorted(kinda if u dont mind not having an alarm) the sensors are still on show and still looks the partso acts as a deterrent,

:D

Cheers guys, I'll give that a try. I thought it might have been something like that and checked the doors and boot but forgot about the bonnet.

Sorted thanks!!!! Tried slamming the bonnet a few times and that didn't work so just pressed the sensor up and down a few times and it seems to have fixed it! Thanks again, I can now hear again!
