All JBL ???

  BMW M4; S1000 RR
I have been to Motorworld today. Didn't really like what they were trying to sell me so that answers my question really.

I told them I don't mind spending money (I just don't like wasting it). And they started recommending JBL packages (sponsors anyone?)

I have some JBL coaxials to replace the paper pieces of s**t that came with the car (in the back). But even they're pretty sound dead.

I want the whole package, starting from a good head unit (perhaps with built in ipod support), front components, rear coaxial mind range woofers and a sub or two if the price is right. Amplifiers should not be comprimised as I want to do this properly the first time.

They were offering me £80 subs and £50 components, and said they were up from entry level, that maybe, but I want something that will really kick when it needs to.

Any suggestions ???

Amps - rockford fostage
Components - oxygen o2

Prices are more than what they said though....

Depends how much you are willing to spend.

One sub should be enough in a Clio unless you love really loud bass. So therefore:

HU
Comps
Sub
Rears (If you really want them)
4-channel Amp

What you get depends on your budget. You can get some good second hand stuff as well.

Thanks for the prompt replies. As I said, I don't mind spending money, so decent stuff alround really.

I posted a while back asking what the pieces of a 206 at FCS were, but I figured it out formyself.

2 Lanzar Heritage (12" I think) subs inverted, a Lanzar Vibe 4 channel 1200w amp. There was another amp and some 6x9s. But I'm not a fan of 2 or 3way speakers, infact I don't like them at all.

They were belting out a tune which I'm still looking for hehe, but that's another story. They were so clear, and so so loud, even standing next to the other cars with ICE (in the top 25 french cars) I could still hear that system.

I don't like listening to loud music on the run, but by buying a large package with component pieces all round then it will be pretty damn good at any volume. I want something for shows and get togethers, the only reason I would go for 2 subs really.

Secondly I won't want to be spending money on fitting having people do what I could do on a weekend for a heap of cash, so nothing that needs a special built enclosure. I can soundproof anything that needs it, and wiring is a piece of piss, as is building boxes. I can even get green MDF if people recommend that s**t.

which branch did you go into mate ?

i work for Motor World and we are not sponsored by JBL in any way, we do get good deals from them and its stuff we keep in stock, also for the cash that some of it is its quite a step up from the SPLx stuff we also keep in stock

sadly some staff dont know there arse from there elbow when it comes to ICE, not that i pretend to know everything, i definitely dont, but im certain given a budget i could come up with a system to suit your needs

where do you live ?..........i work @ a St Helens branch so if your at all local come in and see me, if your anywhere near yorkshire go see the lads at the Brighouse branch as they know their ICE

sorry you had a bad experience but were not all bad !

Hehe Brun, I wasn't having a pop. I just didn't understand when I asked for pretty high end stuff I was being offered a whole kit for £200 ???

Tell me if this is right because if so I'll go and buy it now.

I am in Brighton, the guy did tell me they are only a small branch so can't really give proper demonstrations, but advised me to visit the crawley store.

Would you recommend them ??

Funnily enough I do goto yorkshire a fair bit, but haven't got any visits planned very soon. Next time I'm up there though I'll pop in.

not sure on most of the other stores mate apart from the ones local to me, but the Brighouse store is a bit special, its kind of independant from the rest of us and is heavily focused towards ICE and installs so if your anywhere near and after high end gear they can most certainly sort you out and know what they are talking about aswell
