Does anyone know how is it done and how long does it take?? Also can you buy a do it yourself kit from Halfords??

Depends where you have it done!

Place i use chemically strip the wheel then repowder-coat it, usually takes them a couple of days.

Yes, You can buy a simple kit from halfords.
