Alloy wheel restoration

  Sold MK1 RSI to travel

My alloys need a proper clean, to get them re-furbed I reckon Im looking at around £160 for all four and Im not sure if they take tyres off too with that.

Anyhoot, Surely I should be able to get some good cleaner stuff specially for alloys in Halfords or motorworld, whats the best stuff and will it work?

If you get them refurbished properly then theyll sandblast them or sand them down - so there should be no need to do any more than clean them with car shampoo before you have them done.

Ben H,

I will get them re-furbed but not just yet, if I can clean the sh*te off em now and get them looking brand new (re-furbed) later then Ill do that, its just there is this grey muck and white specs, I cant seem to shift.

Can I buy something?

Thanks

Wonder Wheels will do a great job (Halfords), but it is petty powerful stuff and will not do the finish on your wheels any good if you use it every week, would not use it on the wheels once you have got them refurbed.

Does that mean that if I use it once now, it will clean them up and then I can re-furb them later and get them done properly?

Thanks

i had the same problem mate. i brought a alloy refurbishment kit from halfords and that has certainly given the alloys a new lease of life, ive got pics of before and after if you wana have a look.
