Alpine 9855R HU Removal

Hi all, just bought the Alpine KCA 420i Ipod adapter and need to remove my 9855R HU whats the easiest way to remove it?

I used to have a Pioneer and they had keys but my Alpine doesn't.


Any help would be great.

If it's like the 9853R, I used a stanley blade to pop the surround off, then you just use a flat blade screwdriver to push the two clips either side, back then up and it just slides forward then.

Not as easy as keys though.

Not really, I can have mine out in about 20 seconds now with a credit card and a screwdriver. First time took me ages though.

Alpines dont have removal keys, they have a small 'peg' either side which needs pushing up a little and then the unit will come out
