Alpine AINET and MP3 Player

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Hi,
I have an Alpine CDA9847R and have just purchased an AINET cable so I can plug my MP3 player in. The cable plugs straight into the back of the unit and then into the headphone jack on the MP3 player. I have enabled AUX on the HU. The problem is when I play a track on the MP3 player the Vol is really quiet. I have to turn the Vol fully up on the player and HU to just about be able to hear anything? Both Vols work fine when not connected to each other?

Has anyone come across this before?

Cheers BBR92

It might be a setting within the headuint it self. Usually there are different volumes for different input souces on the head unit. Try turning these up.

For example I have set my cd volume to low and my radio volume to high. So if I set my main volume to number 10 for instance they can be played out at different volumes.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Jimmy, I have looked at this and it seems the only Vol I can change on the HU is between the Tuner and CD, neither setting makes a difference?

If anyone has this problem in the future - on the base of the unit is a really small AINET switch mine was on EQ/DIV when it should have been on NORM. Apparently this changes the mode of AINET so aplogies to Jimmy as you were right!!!!

Thanks:D
