Alpine CDE-178BT vs. CDA-137BTi

Currently pondering between the 2 headunits, but cant really work out the differences.

Have looked at various other units, but narrowed it down to these two. Both have bluetooth, cd player, ipod control etc. Cheaper one seems to do everything i want, but just wondering if its worth the extra £30 for the top of the range one? It'll be powering the standard speakers in the doors of the GP, no rear speakers, amps, subs, etc.

Dave I'm reasonably sure I have the second one you posted in my Cooper S. I'll check when I get home and confirm, not 100% sure as it was bought by the previous owner only a few months ago. It looks the same anyway.

All I'll say is it's epic! Does everything very well and the sound is superb.

The more expensive one has a Digital Tuner no? for £30 I'd pay the extra for that alone, the actual amp is likely to be the same unit anyway so sound quality no different.

Not digital tuner no, if it was a full faced DAB it would a no brainer. More expensive one has Imprint, whatever that is. Thinks its down to looks tbh.

Imprint is the Alpine kit where you put a microphone in the car and tune the stereo to optimise the speakers etc.

Not worth it from what you say you're going to have. If you plough an extra £1k into speakers and amps then maybe
